Kelly Lundeen – Biography

Kelly (Marty) Lundeen paints from a perspective that could be called atmospheric, with an interest in the horizon line that separates the earth from sky. Viewers are captured by his vast expanses that span up to the stars. The surreal landscapes of mountains ranges and infinite frontiers are set to life when the viewer places themselves in the landscape through their imagination.
Starting off as just a hobby, Kelly has received no formal training in painting. He believes that his curiosity in the “spacescapes” he is creating comes from his background in cinematography and camera operating. The heavy focus on framing and composition, and trying to capture picturesque sunsets and landscapes, gives Kelly the inspiration to create his very own infinite frontiers.

If you have seen the Stations of the Cross located in Gretna, Nebraska, you may notice this second set has a little different patina. (The patina is the color we add to the bronze as one of the last steps.) This patina is a bit darker, meant to show off the golden details in high contrast.

What do you think of the job our crew did finishing this one up?
